Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Dynamic loading tests for final settling tanks

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 1996
Dynamic experiments conducted in a pilot scale settling tank at Zurich's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) are presented. The experiments were carried out with real activated sludge. They showed that vertical perforated walls transverse to the main flow direction are very beneficial particularly for wet-weather flow.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Research of Dynamic Load Spectrum Simulation Method of Hybrid Electric Vehicle Transmission System based on RPC

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
In order to evaluate the fatigue durability of the hybrid vehicle driveline, the load simulation test system is used to simulate the dynamic load spectrum of the vehicle on the actual road.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Model Test Study of Offshore Wind Turbine Foundation under the Combined Action of Wind Wave and Current

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The wind turbine system in the offshore area will be subjected to the combined action of complex marine environment dynamic loads. At present, there is a certain advantage to using traditional mechanical devices to simulate marine environmental loads. In

Acoustic testing techniques for replicating in-flight dynamic loads [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of Meetings on Acoustics, 2017
Modern weapon systems used on combat aircraft have complex electronic assemblies that are required to operate in a challenging dynamic environment throughout their life cycle. Among the various sources of excitation, aerodynamic noise is considered most significant.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

The Influence of Physical Load on Dynamic Postural Control—A Systematic Replication Study

open access: yesJournal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology, 2020
Dynamic postural control is challenged during many actions in sport such as when landing or cutting. A decrease of dynamic postural control is one possible risk factor for non-contact injuries.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
