Dynamic Analysis of Compliant Mechanisms
Volume 5: 27th Biennial Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, 2002A systematic method for dynamic analysis of compliant mechanisms is presented including basic formulations for natural frequencies, modes, dynamic response, and frequency characteristics. Methods for design sensitivity analysis are developed to investigate the effect of various design parameters on the dynamic performance of compliant mechanisms.

Dynamic Mechanical Analysis Using Complex Waveforms
1993Small-amplitude oscillatory shear is a widely used method of determining the linear viscoelastic properties of materials. In the classical version of the technique, the material is subjected to a sinusoidal shear strain of amplitude γ0 and frequency ω, such that the shear strain as a function of time is $$ \gamma (t) = {\gamma _0}\;\sin \left ...

Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis of maxillofacial elastomers
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1997Maxillofacial prosthetic materials should simulate the oral tissues as much as possible and therefore have a similar flexibility and resilience. In light of the oral tissues constantly moving, the dynamic deformation properties of maxillofacial materials would seem the most relevant. In this study, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis was used to ...

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF MICRO-ELECTRO-MECHANICAL SYSTEMS
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1996Summary: The subject of this paper is dynamic analysis of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). MEMS are integrated, movable microstructures with electronics, in the 0.1-1000 \(\mu\)m size range. Dynamic analysis of MEMS is complicated by the fact that there are two physical domains, electrical and mechanical, with nonlinear coupling between them ...

Pharmaceutical applications of dynamic mechanical thermal analysis
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2012The successful development of polymeric drug delivery and biomedical devices requires a comprehensive understanding of the viscoleastic properties of polymers as these have been shown to directly affect clinical efficacy. Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) is an accessible and versatile analytical technique in which an oscillating stress or ...

Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) or dynamic thermomechanometry
1988One of the techniques of thermomechanical analysis, described earlier in chapter 7, involves measurement of the change of a dimension of the sample as the load on the sample is increased, while the temperature is held constant. This is effectively the determination of a stress-strain curve for the sample.
