Dynamic stereo in visual navigation

Proceedings. 1991 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2002
A cooperative schema is proposed in which binocular disparity, computed on several stereo images over time, is combined with optical flow from the same sequence to obtain a relative-depth map of the scene. Both time-to-impact and depth scaled by the distance of the camera from the fixation point in space are considered as good, relative measurements ...

Footstep navigation for dynamic crowds

Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games, 2011
AbstractThe majority of steering algorithms output only a force or velocity vector to an animation system, without modeling the constraints and capabilities of human‐like movement. This simplistic approach lacks control over how a character should navigate. This paper proposes a steering method that usesfootstepsto navigate characters in dynamic crowds.

A navigation mesh for dynamic environments

Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, 2012
ABSTRACTGames and simulations frequently model scenarios where obstacles move, appear, and disappear in an environment. A city environment changes as new buildings and roads are constructed, and routes can become partially blocked by small obstacles many times in a typical day.

Dynamic Navigation for Dental Implant Placement

Journal of Visualized Experiments, 2022
In modern implantology, the application of surgical navigation systems is becoming increasingly important. In addition to static surgical navigation methods, a guide-independent dynamic navigation implant placement procedure is becoming more widespread. The procedure is based on computer-guided dental implant placement utilizing optical control.

Hamiltonian dynamics for robot navigation

2011 9th IEEE International Conference on Control and Automation (ICCA), 2011
We describe a methodology to plan the trajectory of a robot moving in a two-dimensional space. The robot has to perform the task of reaching a target avoiding obstacles. We show that if the position of the target and of the obstacles in known a priori, then a suitable Hamiltonian function can be constructed and used to define the trajectory.
