From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Research on Dynamic Community Detection Method Based on an Improved Pity Beetle Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In the last decade, community detection in dynamic networks has received increasing attention, because it can not only uncover the community structure of the network at any time but also reveal the regularity of dynamic networks evolution.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

DyEgoVis: Visual Exploration of Dynamic Ego-Network Evolution

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Ego-network, which can describe relationships between a focus node (i.e., ego) and its neighbor nodes (i.e., alters), often changes over time. Exploring dynamic ego-networks can help users gain insight into how each ego interacts with and is influenced ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

A Time-Ordered Aggregation Model-Based Centrality Metric for Mobile Social Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
How to measure the centrality of nodes is a significant problem in mobile social networks (MSNs). Current studies in MSNs mainly focus on measuring the centrality of nodes in a certain time interval based on the static graph that do not change over time.

Hyperscanning fNIRS data analysis using multiregression dynamic models: an illustration in a violin duo

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2023
IntroductionInterpersonal neural synchronization (INS) demands a greater understanding of a brain's influence on others. Therefore, brain synchronization is an even more complex system than intrasubject brain connectivity and must be investigated.

TOOLS FOR NETWORK DYNAMICS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2005
Networks have been studied mainly by statistical methods which emphasize their topological structure. Here, one collects some mathematical tools and results which might be useful to study both the dynamics of agents living on the network and the networks themselves as evolving dynamical systems.

Dynamic Web Service Composition through Network Analysis with Backtracking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A Web service is a software system designed to support interoperable machine-to-machine interaction over a network. Web services provide a standard means of interoperating between different software applications, running on a variety of platforms and/or ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
