Semantic SLAM With More Accurate Point Cloud Map in Dynamic Environments

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Static environment is a prerequisite for most existing vision-based SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) systems to work properly, which greatly limits the use of SLAM in real-world environments.

Spatio-Temporal Detection and Filtering of Dynamic Objects in Mobile LiDAR Point Clouds [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Mobile LiDAR systems are increasingly utilized for high-precision mapping in dynamic environments, yet the presence of moving objects introduces significant noise and distortions in the resulting point clouds.

Research Progress of Dynamic Measurement Technology of Atom Gravimeter

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
After more than 30 years of development, the measurement performance of atom gravimeters in the laboratory has reached a high level. More and more compact, small, portable instruments begin to appear, and field measurements have been conducted gradually.

Robust Dense Mapping for Large-Scale Dynamic Environments

open access: yes, 2018
We present a stereo-based dense mapping algorithm for large-scale dynamic urban environments. In contrast to other existing methods, we simultaneously reconstruct the static background, the moving objects, and the potentially moving but currently ...

High-density functional diffuse optical tomography based on frequency-domain measurements improves image quality and spatial resolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Measurements of dynamic Near Infrared (NIR) light attenuation across the human head together with model-based image reconstruction algorithms allow the recovery of three-dimensional spatial brain activation maps.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Hardware Implementation of an Automatic Rendering Tone Mapping Algorithm for a Wide Dynamic Range Display

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications, 2013
Tone mapping algorithms are used to adapt captured wide dynamic range (WDR) scenes to the limited dynamic range of available display devices. Although there are several tone mapping algorithms available, most of them require manual tuning of their ...

A featureless approach for object detection and tracking in dynamic environments.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
One of the challenging problems in mobile robotics is mapping a dynamic environment for navigating robots. In order to disambiguate multiple moving obstacles, state-of-art techniques often solve some form of dynamic SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and ...

Relationships between human auditory cortical structure and function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The human auditory cortex comprises multiple areas, largely distributed across the supratemporal plane, but the precise number and configuration of auditory areas and their functional significance have not yet been clearly established.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
