Hardware Implementation of an Automatic Rendering Tone Mapping Algorithm for a Wide Dynamic Range Display

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications, 2013
Tone mapping algorithms are used to adapt captured wide dynamic range (WDR) scenes to the limited dynamic range of available display devices. Although there are several tone mapping algorithms available, most of them require manual tuning of their ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A featureless approach for object detection and tracking in dynamic environments.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
One of the challenging problems in mobile robotics is mapping a dynamic environment for navigating robots. In order to disambiguate multiple moving obstacles, state-of-art techniques often solve some form of dynamic SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

An Adaptive Filtering Approach Based on the Dynamic Variance Model for Reducing MEMS Gyroscope Random Error

open access: yesSensors, 2018
To improve the dynamic random error compensation accuracy of the Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) gyroscope at different angular rates, an adaptive filtering approach based on the dynamic variance model was proposed.

A Hybrid Intelligent Fault Diagnosis Framework for Rolling Bearings and Gears Based on BAYES-ICEEMDAN-SNR Feature Enhancement and ITOC-LSSVM [PDF]

open access: yesSensors (Basel)
To address the challenges of difficult feature extraction for rolling bearing vibration signals, low efficiency in optimizing diagnostic model parameters, and the tendency to get trapped in local optima, this paper proposes an improved ICEEMDAN feature ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Mapping Bioprocessing Dynamics and Noise at the Single Cell Level using Microfluidics [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2015
In cell-bioprocessing, the central metabolism is shunted towards the production of specific macromolecules. Through novel metabolic engineering strategies, this bioprocessing paradigm has found widespread applications in disease therapy and the production of organic compounds. Due to the large copy-numbers of products and metabolites, bioprocessing has
