Dynamic noise mapping of road traffic in an urban city

Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2021
This study is an attempt to analyse the spatial distribution of traffic noise levels in the city of Delhi through the creation of noise maps with the help of GIS. Field measurements were conducted at 10 locations consisting of different land-use patterns.

A WASN-Based Suburban Dataset for Anomalous Noise Event Detection on Dynamic Road-Traffic Noise Mapping [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Traffic noise is presently considered one of the main pollutants in urban and suburban areas. Several recent technological advances have allowed a step forward in the dynamic computation of road-traffic noise levels by means of a Wireless Acoustic Sensor Network (WASN) through the collection of measurements in real-operation environments.

Wireless Noise Surveillance - Development of Dynamic Noise Maps

SPE International Conference and Exhibition on Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Social Responsibility, 2016
Abstract Noise is a major challenge in the petroleum industry. Prior to performing work in a noisy area, the noise map is the tool for assessing noise exposure when planning and performing work. The aim of this paper is to present an ongoing R&D project to develop a wireless noise monitoring system that provides real-time input to a ...

Estimation of Dynamic Noise in Mandelbrot Map

International Journal of Artificial Life Research, 2017
Julia and Mandelbrot sets have been studied continuously attracting fractal scientists since their creation. As a result, Julia and Mandelbrot sets have been analyzed intensively. In this article, researchers have studied the effect of noise on these sets and analyzed perturbation.

A novel dynamic noise maps visualization tool

2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology, 2008
A concept and an implementation of a novel dynamic noise maps visualization tool is presented in this paper. The principal aim of the project is described. The first part depicts general features of the tool. The main focus is put on presenting the innovative features of the dynamic noise maps visualization tool in comparison to the commonly used ...

Mapping noise disturbed oscillators onto quasi-symplectic dynamics

2013 22nd International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations (ICNF), 2013
We find exact mappings for a class of limit cycle systems with noise onto quasi-symplectic dynamics, including a van der Pol type oscillator. A dual role potential function is obtained as a component of the quasi-symplectic dynamics. Each component of the quasi-symplectic dynamics has an individual physical meaning and can be measured independently ...

Crowdsourcing Application in the Development of a Dynamic Noise Map

2021
One of the most important components of smart cities are smart citizens, i.e. people who actively participate in the functioning of the city. Current commu-nication technologies and smart devices are components that make this possible in near real-time.

Rendering of Dynamic Road Traffic Noise Map based on Paramics

open access: yesProcedia, Social and Behavioral Sciences, 2013
AbstractTraffic flow is simplified as equal-interval line source in traditional road traffic noise prediction models. The prediction results of these models are non-dynamic and can only be used to render the static noise maps. This paper performs the dynamic simulation of road traffic noise by integrating traffic micro-simulation technology, noise ...

Noise-aided control of chaotic dynamics in a logistic map

Physical Review E, 2000
Controlling chaos involves employing small perturbations to a control parameter, resulting in the stabilization of the system (naturally chaotic) on one of the infinite unstable periodic orbits embedded in the chaotic attractor. In this Brief Report we study the constructive role of external noise in increasing the efficiency of controlling chaos ...
