Oscillation of delay dynamic equations with oscillating coefficients [PDF]

open access: yesDifferential Equations & Applications, 2013
In this paper, we study the following delay dynamic equation x Δ (t)+p(t)x(τ(t)) = 0f ort ∈ (t0,∞)T, where t0 ∈ T ,s upT = ∞, p ∈ Crd((t0,∞)T,R) alternates in sign infinitely many times and τ ∈ Crd((t0,∞)T,T) is a strictly increasing unbounded function satisfying τ(t) t for all t ∈ (t0,∞)T. Our results extend recent results for arbitrary time scales.

Study on Self-Excited Oscillation Suppression of Supersonic Inlet Based on Parallel Cavity

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
Aiming at the problem of self-excited oscillation in a supersonic inlet, the oscillation suppression of parallel cavities in a shock system is studied. Based on the shock dynamic model, the theoretical calculation model of parallel cavity under dynamic ...

Dynamics of Oscillator Chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The Fermi–Pasta–Ulam (FPU) nonlinear oscillator chain has proved to be a seminal system for investigating problems in nonlinear dynamics. First proposed as a nonlinear system to elucidate the foundations of statistical mechanics, the initial lack of confirmation of the researchers expectations eventually led to a number of profound insights into the ...

On the dynamical structure of calcium oscillations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2017
Significance Oscillations in the concentration of free cytosolic calcium are an important control mechanism in many cell types. However, we still have little understanding of how some cells can exhibit calcium oscillations with a period of less than a second, whereas other cells have oscillations with a period of hundreds of seconds ...

The Dynamics of Oscillating Sheetflow

open access: yesCoastal Engineering 1986, 1986
Two mathematical models for the simulation of the dynamics of sheetflow are presented, an analytical and a numerical one. In the analytical model the theory of Bagnold (1954) is implemented: a constant ratio between shear stress and normal stresses is assumed.

A numerical study of an inline oscillating cylinder in a free stream [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Simulations of a cylinder undergoing externally controlled sinusoidal oscillations in the free stream direction have been performed. The frequency of oscillation was kept equal to the vortex shedding frequency from a fixed cylinder, while the amplitude ...

Experimental Study on the Dynamic Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Mechanically Pumped Two-phase Cooling Loop

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2021
The present research designs a mechanically pumped cooling loop system and conducts an experimental investigation on the dynamic heat transfer characteristics of the system.

Dynamics of periodically kicked oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fixed Point Theory and Applications, 2010
We review some recent results surrounding a general mechanism for producing chaotic behavior in periodically-kicked oscillators. The key geometric ideas are illustrated via a simple linear shear model.

The Influence of Continuous Shear, Shear History and Relaxation on the Rheological Behavior of Sio2/Glycerine Suspensions

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2015
Suspensions of SiO2 microspheres in glycerine exhibit drastic shear-thickening behavior under steady shear and dynamic oscillatory shear test. The rheological behavior of suspensions agrees with the modified Cox-Merz rules as the dynamic oscillatory ...

Oscillation of noncanonical fourth-order dynamic equations

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering, 2023
We present two sufficient conditions for the oscillatory behaviour of a class of noncanonical fourth-order dynamic equations on arbitrary time scales. An illustrative example is included to show that new criteria improve related results reported in the ...
