OSCILLATIONS IN GRANULAR DYNAMICS [PDF]
A new effect of granular dynamics in a bounded domain is reported. Oscillations arise when the system evolves from a given (non-equilibrium) initial state. The oscillations obtained are of importance for vibrated granular systems since they reveal some kind of fundamental frequencies and they lead to resonant frequencies under vibration.

DYNAMICS OF RELAXATION OSCILLATIONS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2001Relaxation oscillations are characteristic of periodic processes consisting of segments which differ greatly in time: a long-time span when the system is moving slowly and a relatively short time span when the system is moving rapidly. The period of oscillation, the sum of these contributions, is usually treated by singular perturbation theory which ...

Multipulse dynamics in a Mamyshev oscillator
Optics Letters, 2020We report on the multipulse dynamics in an erbium-doped fiber Mamyshev oscillator. It was demonstrated that, in addition to the single pulse, the multipulse patterns could be observed by adjusting the pump power, where the multiple pulses operated in random distributed state or bound state.

The dynamics of EWOD oscillations
2017 IEEE SENSORS, 2017The dynamic behavior of an Electrowetting on Dielectrics (EWOD) actuation process can be linked to certain fluid properties of the actuated polar fluid droplet. After actuation, inertia will lead to droplet oscillations until the contact angle finally adapts to the newly created surface tension equilibrium.

Nonlinear Dynamics of Memristor Oscillators
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2011A thorough investigation of the nonlinear dynamics of networks of memristor oscillators is a key step towards the design of systems based upon them, such as neuromorphic circuits and dense nonvolatile memories. A wide gamut of complex dynamic behaviors, including chaos, is observed even in a simple network of memristor oscillators, proposed here as a ...

Linearized oscillations in population dynamics
Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 1987A linearized oscillation theorem due to the authors and \textit{A. Meimaridou} [Q. Appl. Math. 45, 155-164 (1987; Zbl 0627.34076)] and an extension of it are applied to obtain the oscillation of solutions of several equations which have appeared in population dynamics.
