Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Dynamic compressive and splitting tensile tests on mortar using split Hopkinson pressure bar technique

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
Dynamic compressive and tensile properties of mortar under impact loading were investigated experimentally by using a split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) apparatus with pulse shaping technique.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Laboratory Investigation on Shear Modulus and Damping Properties of Port Soft Clay Improved by Dynamic Compaction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Dynamic compaction has been widely applied to reinforce soft soils in port areas due to its high efficiency and cost-effectiveness. However, a comprehensive understanding of the deformation mechanisms and stiffness evolution of treated soils under static

Emergent Properties in Structurally Dynamic Disordered Cellular Networks

open access: yes, 2006
We relate structurally dynamic cellular networks, a class of models we developed in fundamental space-time physics, to SDCA, introduced some time ago by Ilachinski and Halpern.

A program for computing shock-tube gas dynamic properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Computer program calculates thermodynamic properties from basic spectroscopic data. Program capacity is a mixture of 100 different species composed of ten different elements.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Dynamic and distributional properties of prices. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Most models of pricing embody a static, deterministic theoryof value where the monetary amount people assign to an itemis computed as a fixed function of its attributes. Preference re-versals — where prices assigned to gambles conflict with pref-erence orders elicited through binary choices – indicate thatthe response processes going into value ...
