Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Computational Dynamic Market Risk Measures in Discrete Time Setting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Different approaches to defining dynamic market risk measures are available in the literature. Most are focused or derived from probability theory, economic behavior or dynamic programming.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Thermophysical properties of liquid carbon dioxide under shock compressions: Quantum molecular dynamic simulations

open access: yes, 2010
Quantum molecular dynamic simulations are introduced to study the dynamical, electrical, and optical properties of carbon dioxide under dynamic compressions. The principal Hugoniot derived from the calculated equation of states is demonstrated to be well

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Dynamical properties of the synchronization transition [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2003
We study the dynamics of the synchronization transition (ST) of one-dimensional coupled map lattices. For the Bernoulli map it was recently found by Ahlers and Pikovsky (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 88}, 254101 (2002)) that the ST belongs to the directed percolation (DP) universality class.
