Dynamic Recrystallization in Titanium Alloys

Key Engineering Materials, 2016
The results of the investigations on five different titanium alloys were presented in this paper. Two two-phase α+β alloys (Ti-6Al-4V and Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo) as well as two β alloys (Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al and Ti-3Al-8V-6Cr-4Mo-4Zr) were studied. Moreover, Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb intermetallic alloy (γ alloy) was also investigated.

Dynamic Recrystallization in Tial Alloys

MRS Proceedings, 1992
TiAl alloys with Cr, V, and Nb additions show promise as high temperature materials due to their high temperature strength and modulus. Dynamic recrystallization has been shown to be important for the processing and superplastic forming of these materials.

Dynamic recrystallization of zirconium carbide

Scripta Metallurgica, 1976
Results of compression testing of ZrC are presented which show that in the range 1200 to 1800$sup 0$C these materials may undergo dynamic recrystallization. The predominant deformation mechanism near the yield stress is carbon diffusion-assisted motion of dislocations.

A model of continuous dynamic recrystallization

Acta Materialia, 2003
During continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX), which occurs in high stacking fault energy metals, new grains are formed by the progressive increase of low-angle boundary misorientations. A simple CDRX model is proposed, that deals with a set of “crystallites” delimited partly by low-angle (LABs) and partly by high-angle (HABs) boundaries.

Modelling of Dynamic Recrystallization in Hot Working

Key Engineering Materials, 2007
Dynamic recrystallization, on which grain size of the final forging depends mainly, is one of the most important microstructure evolution processes in moderate-to-low stacking fault energy metals. In this paper, the process of dynamic recrystallization is simulated by numerical method.

Dynamic recrystallization at superplastic deformation of duralumin with initial recrystallized structure

Scripta Materialia, 2000
It is well-known that strain-induced grain growth is a characteristic feature of superplastic deformation (SPD) of various materials. Such grain growth has been observed over the whole investigated interval of strains in quasi-single phase superplastic aluminum alloys 7475, Neopral and 5083.

Hot Deformation Characteristics and Dynamic Recrystallization Mechanisms of a Novel Nickel‐Based Superalloy

Advanced Engineering Materials, 2020
The hot deformation characteristics of a novel nickel‐based superalloy is investigated via the isothermal compression test in temperature range of 1000–1150 °C and strain rate of 0.001–10 s−1 under the true strain of 0.8.

A Different View on Dynamic Recrystallization

Materials Science Forum, 2012
A new approach to dynamic recrystallization (DRX) is introduced. It is based on the assumption that the critical conditions for DRX and the arrest of DRX grain boundaries are related to the development of mobile subboundaries. The theoretical predictions are compared to experimental results during incipient and steady-state DRX.

Phase-Field Modeling for Dynamic Recrystallization [PDF]

open access: possible, 2015
Hot working is a process in which metallic materials are worked at the elevated temperatures above the recrystallization temperature. During the hot working of the low-to-medium stacking fault energy metals, the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) occurs.
