Development of dynamic recrystallization theory
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2004Although hot working had been defined as deformation above the recrystallization temperature (determined after cold working), it was only about 1965 that dynamic recrystallization (DRX) was confirmed to be occurring during the deformation; two decades were required to clarify the similarities to, and the differences from, static recrystallization.

When dynamic recrystalllsatlon occurs during constant straln-rate tests, the stresswithin the sample tends to a steadyj or "saturation" value. This steady-state stress isassociated with a new, and constant mean grain size within the material. These effects arecaused by cycles of nucleatlon and recrystallisation which occur out-of-phase at numeroussites

Discontinuous dynamic recrystallization in α-Zr
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2018Abstract This study attempts to identify the type of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) occurring in hot deformed zirconium. For this, samples of Zr were uniaxially compressed at 800 °C and 0.1 s−1 to varying strains. Microstructural characterization was done using electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD).

Metallographic observations of dynamic recrystallization in Ni3Al
Scripta Metallurgica, 1984The purpose of this paper is to show that certain features characterize the high temperature fracture of another strongly ordered Ll/sub 2/ alloy, Ni/sub 3/Al, and to provide direct evidence for dynamic recrystallization in this material. The inference is that this phenomenon may be characteristic of the high-temperature flow and fracture of ...
