Accelerated Dynamic Shear Rheometer Fatigue Test for investigating asphalt mastic

Road Materials and Pavement Design, 2021
Asphalt mastic is known to play an important role when determining the fatigue performance of asphalt mixture. Time sweep test using a Dynamic Shear Rheometer can be used.

Research on the Calibration Method of Dynamic Shear Rheometer

Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacture, 2020
This paper introduces the internal mechanism and working principle of the dynamic shear rheometer, and proposes the measurement index and calibration method of the dynamic shear rheometer. The stability of the complex shear viscosity of the dynamic shear rheometer is less than 3%, and the relative indication error of the complex shear viscosity of the ...

Creep Testing of Bitumens Using the Dynamic Shear Rheometer

International Journal of Pavement Engineering, 2002
This paper describes the use of the Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) to characterise the steady-state shear deformation properties of two grades of bitumen over a wide range of stresses and strain rates. The steady-state shear strain rate has been used to characterise the quasi-static deformation behaviour of the bitumen.

Dynamic shear rheometer testing and mechanistic conversion to predict bending beam rheometer low temperature behavior of bituminous binder

Construction and Building Materials, 2021
Abstract The low-temperature rheology of bituminous binders is of great interest because low-temperature cracking is one of the primary failure modes of asphaltic pavements in cold-climate region. Low temperature binder characterization/grading has been primarily conducted using the bending beam rheometer (BBR) which requires much binder for specimen

Using the Dynamic Shear Rheometer for Low-Temperature Grading of Asphalt Binders

Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 2021
Abstract The Superpave Performance Grading (PG) framework or a variation of this framework is often used as a purchase specification in the United States and as a tool to evaluate the expected performance of modified and unmodified asphalt binders in many countries around the world.

Research of Bituminous MortarFatigue Test Method Based on Dynamic Shear Rheometer

Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 2012
Abstract This paper presents a new test method that allows fatigue characterization on bituminous mortar by means of dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). The studied mortar is composed of bitumen, filler and fine sand at a mass ratio of 0.34:0.30:0.36.

Evaluating Tack Properties of Trackless Tack Coats Through Dynamic Shear Rheometer

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2017
Tracking of traditional tack coat materials is a common concern during hot-mix asphalt overlay construction. This problem can be avoided by using trackless tacks, which are recently developed tack products that resist sticking to tires. Thus loss of tack materials from the paving surface is preventable.

Performance Study on Asphalt Mortar with Dynamical Shear Rheometer

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
A series of asphalt mortars were prepared and tested by dynamic shear rheometer and other common evaluation methods aiming at investigating the physical performance of asphalt mortars. The final analysis shows that the changes of strength modulus and viscoelastic property rely on the composition differences in asphalt mortar, and modified asphalt and ...

Investigating self healing behaviour of pure bitumen using Dynamic Shear Rheometer

Fuel, 2011
Abstract Self healing is known as a built-in property of bitumen, which can help bitumen and asphalt concrete to recover its strength after damage. Healing can also extend the service life of asphalt pavements. A two-piece healing (TPH) test was developed to investigate the self healing behaviour of pure bitumen using the Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR)

Identification of Concrete Incompatibilities using Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR)

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
In concrete, the chemical interactions between chemical admixtures and portland cement is complicated and unpredictable. Occasionally these interactions may cause a serious set retardation or excessively fast stiffening. The objective of this study was to develop a reliable test method to predict potential concrete incompatibilities through the direct ...
