Laser Additive Manufacturing of Oxide‐Dispersion‐Strengthened Steels: A Simulation‐Based Comparison Between Powder Bed Fusion and Direct Energy Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the size and distribution of dispersoids is essential for optimizing the performance of oxide‐dispersion‐strengthened steels. This study focuses on nanoparticle dispersion and agglomeration during laser additive manufacturing of Fe20Cr alloy reinforced with ZrO 2 nanoparticles. Utilizing multiphysics phase‐field simulations and nanoparticle

An Optimized Node Selection Routing Protocol for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks – A Hybrid Model

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems, 2015
Vehicular Ad-hoc networks (VANETs) are a subset of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks made by vehicles communicating among themselves on roadways. The Routing protocols implemented for MANETs such as Ad-hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol (AODV), Dynamic ...

Mechanical and Microstructural Effects of ZrO2 Nanoparticles in Fe20Cr Oxide Dispersion‐Strengthened Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of oxide nanoparticle synthesis route and concentration on microstructure and high‐temperature performance of additively manufactured oxide dispersion‐strengthened steels is investigated. Comparing laser‐generated and chemically synthesized ZrO2 nanoparticles, the study reveals how dispersion quality, crystal structure and particle size ...

Modeling Routing Overhead Generated by Wireless Reactive Routing Protocols [PDF]

open access: yes17th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC2011), 2011
In this paper, we have modeled the routing over- head generated by three reactive routing protocols; Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and DYnamic MANET On-deman (DYMO). Routing performed by reactive protocols consists of two phases; route discovery and route maintenance.

Performance evaluations of adaptive dynamic source routing protocol for mobile ad hoc network / Zuraida Abdullah Hani [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming a temporary network without the use of any existing network infrastructure or centralized administration.

Performance Comparison of Surface Sensitizers for Diode Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Polyamide 12

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser‐generated nanoparticles transform standard PA12 powders into high‐performance, dye‐free feedstocks for diode laser 3D printing. Despite identical absorbance at 808 nm, CuS, LaB6, and CB coatings reveal striking differences in fusion and strength—unlocking new design space for recyclable, industrial‐grade polymers.

MANET Routing Protocols’ Performance Assessment Under Dynamic Network Conditions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are decentralized wireless networks characterized by dynamic topologies and the absence of fixed infrastructure. These unique features make MANETs critical for applications such as disaster recovery, military operations ...

Cross-layer optimization in TCP/IP networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
TCP-AQM can be interpreted as distributed primal-dual algorithms to maximize aggregate utility over source rates. We show that an equilibrium of TCP/IP, if exists, maximizes aggregate utility over both source rates and routes, provided congestion prices ...

Mesoporous Silica Microspheres by Super‐Fast Alkaline Etching of Micrometer‐Sized Stöber Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale silica particles are prepared along with a modified, scalable Stöber synthesis using the continuous addition of tetraethoxy silane to an ethanolic solution of ammonia with KCl. Etching with hydroxide ions at 95 °C gave porous analogs within minutes. Monodisperse particles are isolable in high yield after precipitation in ethanol.
