Payroll Paradox: Using Labour Market Fluctuation in Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) Modeling in Nigeria

International Journal of Advances in Engineering and Management
The application of DSGE models in economic research within the labour market in Nigeria call for concern and further need exploration. This study therefore examined labour market fluctuations in Nigeria from 2008 to 2022 using a DSGE model to analyze the payroll paradox. It also assesses how different economic shocks affect labour market outcomes.

‘Build Your DSGE Model in Ten Minutes’: The Role of Dynare in the Development of the Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Approach

2022
This contribution to the history of macroeconomics focuses on the role of a particular computer tool, named Dynare (for "Dynamic rational expectations") in the dissemination in academia and policymaking institutions of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models. Dynare is a "pre-processor and a collection of routines" (Juillard, 1996, 1) or a

Real investment and dividend policy in a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model. Corporate finance at an aggregate level through DSGE models.

2012
In this thesis, I take a theoretical dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) approach to investigate optimal aggregate dividend policy. I make the following contribution: 1. I extend the standard DSGE model to incorporate a residual dividend policy, external financing and default and find that simulated optimal aggregate payouts are much more ...
