Deep Learning‐Assisted Design of Mechanical Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review examines the role of data‐driven deep learning methodologies in advancing mechanical metamaterial design, focusing on the specific methodologies, applications, challenges, and outlooks of this field. Mechanical metamaterials (MMs), characterized by their extraordinary mechanical behaviors derived from architected microstructures, have ...

Non-stationary hours in a DSGE model [PDF]

open access: yes
The time series fit of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models often suffers from restrictions on the long-run dynamics that are at odds with the data.

Contact Force Estimation of Continuum Robots without Embedded Sensors: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This review surveys methods for estimating contact forces in continuum robots without embedded sensors. It explains why contact force matters, classifies force patterns, and groups existing methods into three approaches based on actuation, deformation, and environment information.

Inflation and output dynamics with firm-owned capital [PDF]

open access: yes
We model firm-owned capital in a stochastic dynamic New-Keynesian general equilibrium model à la Calvo. We find that this structure implies equilibrium dynamics which are quantitatively di¤erent from the ones associated with a benchmark case where ...

Compact Modeling of Volatile‐Switching Electrochemical Metallization Memory Cells by Means of the Electromotive Force

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A volatile‐switching compact model of electrochemical metallization memory cells for neuromorphic architecture is developed and validated by reliable reproduction of device characterization measurements: I−V sweeps, SET kinetics, relaxation dynamics.

Rewiring Droplet Interface Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Droplet interface synapses are used to create a neuromorphic network. Voltage pulses draw the droplets into contact and enable rewiring of the network through electrowetting. Results show that the heterogeneous droplet compositions and pore‐forming molecules may be used to tune the neuromorphic properties of the device using trapped charge as a form of
