Dynamic strain aging and ductility minima in zirconium
Metallurgical Transactions, 1970Tensile tests using coarse grained zirconium specimens were conducted at two strain rates, differing by 3 orders of magnitude, between 77° and 1032°K. At each strain rate, peaks were observed when the flow stress was plotted against the temperature. The temperature corresponding to a given peak was observed to rise with increasing strain rate.

On the mechanism of serrated yielding and dynamic strain ageing
Acta Metallurgica, 1980Abstract Theoretical models of dynamic strain ageing in general and the onset of serrated yielding in particular are based on the interaction between moving dislocations and diffusing solute atoms. In substitutional solid solutions the solute diffusion is assumed to be caused by the vacancies produced by deformation.
