Experimental investigation on the effect of accelerating motion of contact line on the dynamic contact angle

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
The dynamic contact angle, the angle between the surfaces of the liquid and the solid at a moving contact line, is one of the primary conditions for the dynamics of the liquid surface confined by solid wall.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Driving Droplet by Scale Effect on Microstructured Hydrophobic Surfaces

open access: yes, 2012
A new type of water droplet transportation on microstructured hydrophobic surface is proposed and investigated experimentally and theoretically - water droplet could be driven by scale effect which is different from the traditional methods.

Study on Behavior of Inclusions Removal from GCr15  Bearing Steel by Refining Slag

open access: yesTeshugang, 2022
By established a model of inclusions dynamic at the steel-slag interface the refining slag absorbing inclusions phenomenon is studied. Results show that certain parameters, i. e.

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

Title Stabilization of Membrane Pores by Packing

open access: yes, 2006
We present a model for pore stabilization in membranes without surface tension. Whereas an isolated pore is always unstable (since it either shrinks tending to re-seal or grows without bound til to membrane disintegration), it is shown that excluded ...

Multilayer Adsorption of Heptane Vapor at Water Drop Surfaces

open access: yesColloids and Interfaces, 2017
The measured dynamic surface tension of a water drop in air saturated by heptane vapor shows a sharp decrease from about 60 mN m−1 to 40 mN m−1, and less after a certain adsorption time. The observed adsorption kinetics is analyzed by a theoretical model
