Flow-Induced Dynamic Surface Tension Effects at Nanoscale [PDF]
The aim of this study is to investigate flow-induced dynamic surface tension effects, similar to the well-known Marangoni phenomena, but solely generated by the nanoscale topography of the substrates. The flow-induced surface tension effects are examined on the basis of a sharp interface theory.

Comprehensive study of rheological and surface properties of the selected slag system in the context of its internal structure [PDF]
Rheological (dynamic viscosity, flow curves) and surface properties (surface tension) of real slag system were experimentally investigated. Measurements of dynamic viscosity were performed with use of the high-temperature viscometer Anton Paar FRS 1 600.

Dynamic transitions of surface tension driven convection [PDF]
We study the well-posedness and dynamic transitions of the surface tension driven convection in a three-dimensional (3D) rectangular box with non-deformable upper surface and with free-slip boundary conditions. It is shown that as the Marangoni number crosses the critical threshold, the system always undergoes a dynamic transition.

Adsorption and viscoelastic properties of chitosan lactate at the liquid-gas interface
The surface tension and dilational rheological properties (viscoelasticity modulus and phase angle) of chitosan lactate solutions at the liquid-gas interface are investigated by the oscillating drop shape method.

Rupture of a biomembrane under dynamic surface tension [PDF]
How long a fluid membrane vesicle stressed with a steady ramp of micropipette last before rupture? Or conversely, how high the surface tension should be to rupture a membrane? To answer these challenging questions we have developed a theoretical framework that allows description and reproduction of Dynamic Tension Spectroscopy (DTS) observations.

Surface tension in human pathophysiology and its application as a medical diagnostic tool [PDF]
Introduction: Pathological features of disease appear to be quite different. Despite this diversity, the common feature of various disorders underlies physicochemical and biochemical factors such as surface tension.

The singular perturbation of surface tension in Hele-Shaw flows [PDF]
Morphological instabilities are common to pattern formation problems such as the non-equilibrium growth of crystals and directional solidification. Very small perturbations caused by noise originate convoluted interfacial patterns when surface tension is

Influence of liquid surface tension (surfactants) on bubble formation at rigid and flexible orifices [PDF]
The influence of liquid surface tension on the bubble formation from both rigid and flexible orifice has been investigated. The liquid phases under test are aqueous solutions with butanol or surfactants (cationic, non-ionic and anionic); static and ...
