Dynamic Surface Tension Measurement with a Dynamic Wilhelmy Plate Technique
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1999An experimental method called dynamic Wilhelmy plate technique (DWPT) for studying dynamic surface tension was designed in this study. A diffusion-controlled model corresponding to the initial and boundary conditions of this method was proposed. Dynamic surface tension of Triton X-100 and SDS was measured with this technique and analyzed with the ...

Modelling bubble–particle interaction with dynamic surface tension
Minerals Engineering, 2010Abstract Bubble–particle interaction in turbulent flow is a dynamic process by its very nature. Important flotation parameters such as air hold-up, bubble size distribution, and bubble–particle interaction are strongly influenced by the shape and behavior of bubbles in turbulent flow.

Surface-Tension-Driven Dynamic Contact Line in Microgravity
Langmuir, 2018We study the effect of Marangoni flow on a dynamic contact line formed by a propagating reaction front and a liquid-air interface. The self-sustained iodate-arsenous acid reaction maintains the production of the weakly surface active iodine leading to an unbalanced surface force along the tip of the reaction front.

Dynamic surface properties of water: Surface tension and surface potential
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1981Abstract The dynamic surface tension and surface potential of water have been measured for the surface ages from 0.8 to 7.0 msec. In both cases, the time of establishing the equilibrium values is found to be about 3 msec. The value +0.1 V for the equilibrium surface potential has been obtained by extrapolation.

Dynamical relaxation of the surface tension of miscible phases
Physical Review Letters, 1993The dynamical behavior of the surface tension of two initially immiscible phases on raising the temperature to a value greater than or equal to the critical temperature is studied using analytic techniques, mean field dynamical equations, Monte Carlo simulations, and molecular dynamics simulations.

Dynamic Surface Tension Measurements in the Sub-millisecond Range
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1995The dynamic surface tensions of aqueous solutions of Tritons (X-100, X-114, X-165, X-305, and X-405) and n-hexanol were measured with a maximum bubble pressure method in the time interval from 0.1 ms to 1 s. The possibility of formation and detection of bubbles up to a frequency of 100 Hz is needed for studies in the sub-millisecond range, which has ...

Impact of surface dilation rate on dynamic surface tension
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2017Abstract In past studies, estimating the dynamic surface tension in processes involving significant surface deformation relied heavily on empirical relations. Despite its importance, the detailed dynamics of surfactant adsorption onto a dilating surface have not been investigated extensively.

A new surface balance for dynamic surface tension studies
Colloids and Surfaces, 1982Abstract A new design for a dynamic surface balance is described which utilizes a vertical mesh cylinder to alter surface area. The device is described and initial studies have been carried out. Results from DPPC monolayer experiments indicate that force—area isotherms using this device closely agree with results from standard surface balances.

Dynamic surface tension of aqueous surfactant solutions
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1988Abstract The effect of surfactant molecular structure and environment on the parameters, γm, t∗ , and n in the equation, γt = γm + (γ0 − γm/[1 + ( t t∗ )n], describing the surface tension, γt at time t, of an aqueous solution at constant surfactant concentration, C, is explored.
