Dynamic Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions of Ionic Surfactants: Role of Electrostatics [PDF]
The adsorption kinetics of the cationic surfactant dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide at the air-water interface has been studied by the maximum bubble pressure method at concentrations below the critical micellar concentration.

Gas Bubbles Electrolytically Generated At Microcavity Electrodes (MCE) Used For The Measurement Of The Dynamic Surface Tension In Liquids [PDF]
A new method is proposed for the measurement of dynamic surface tension in aqueous solutions. The advantage of this method with respect to the classical method based on sparging is that the use (of gas pumps is avoided, resulting in a miniaturised system.

Threshold Dynamics for Networks with Arbitrary Surface Tensions [PDF]
We present and study a new algorithm for simulating the N‐phase mean curvature motion for an arbitrary set of (isotropic) surface tensions. The departure point is the threshold dynamics algorithm of Merriman, Bence, and Osher for the two‐phase case.A new energetic interpretation of this algorithm allows us to extend it in a natural way to the case of ...

Stability of Microbubbles under Variation of a Pressure Field
The shrinkage and growth of microbubbles coated by palmitic acid under variation of a pressure field are observed with a CCD camera. We investigate the influence of gas diffusion on the stability of microbubbles.

A phase-separation perspective on dynamic heterogeneities in glass-forming liquids [PDF]
We study dynamic heterogeneities in a model glass-former whose overlap with a reference configuration is constrained to a fixed value. The system phase-separates into regions of small and large overlap, so that dynamical correlations remain strong even ...

Impact dynamics of surfactant laden drops: dynamic surface tension effects [PDF]
We study the impact and subsequent retraction of aqueous surfactant-laden drops upon high-speed impact on hydrophobic surfaces. Without surfactants, a rapid expansion of the drop due to the fluid inertia is followed by a rapid retraction, due to the wetting incompatibility. With surfactants, the retraction can be partly or completely inhibited.
