The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Dynamic instabilities and failures in impact tension, compression and shear [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Several aspects of Dynamic Fracture Mechanics and Dynamic Failure Mechanics are discussed in this paper. In the first part the local fracture criteria are briefly discussed, but the main part is focused on the failure criteria to be applied in fast or ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Dynamic Simulation Analysis of Track Tension and the Influencing Factors of Deep-Sea Tracked Mining Vehicle

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2022
The deep-sea mining miner requires good passability to operate in complex and changeable terrain environment of the seabed. Among them, the track tension is an important factor to ensure the normal running of the vehicle.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Monitoring trabecular bone microdamage using a dynamic acousto-elastic testing method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Dynamic acousto-elastic testing (DAET) is based on the coupling of a lowfrequency (LF) acoustic wave and high-frequency ultrasound (US) pulses (probing wave). It was developed to measure US viscoelastic and dissipative non-linearity in trabecular bone.

The importance of microtubule-dependent tension in accurate chromosome segregation

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2023
Accurate chromosome segregation is vital for cell and organismal viability. The mitotic spindle, a bipolar macromolecular machine composed largely of dynamic microtubules, is responsible for chromosome segregation during each cell replication cycle ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Dynamic high-temperature tensile characterization of an iridium alloy

open access: yesBaozha yu Chongji
Iridium alloys have been extensively utilized as structural materials in specific high-temperature applications, attributed to their superior strength and ductility at elevated temperatures.
