Dynamic Triaxial Tests of High‐Strength Concrete

Journal of Engineering Mechanics - ASCE, 1989
Dynamic triaxial compression experiments were performed on a limestone-aggregate concrete whose unconfined static compressive strength is about 100 MPa. The axial strain rates ranged from 0.5/s to 10/s, the confinement levels ranged from zero to 124 MPa, and the peak axial loads ranged from 103 MPa to 393 MPa.

Large triaxial test study on dynamic characteristics of round gravel

Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2020
A series of large-scale drained dynamic triaxial tests were conducted on Nanning saturated gravel soil to investigate dynamic characteristics. The effects of relative density, dynamic stress amplitude, and the number of load cycles on the pore pressure, accumulation strain, and stress–strain hysteresis loops of saturated round gravel soil were analyzed.

Servo-controlled equipment for dynamic triaxial testing of soils

Géotechnique, 1972
THIS NOTE OUTLINES THE DETAILS OF THE LATEST SERVOCONTROLLED HYDRAULIC TYPE OF MACHINE FOR SOIL TESTING. TWO IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THIS TYPE OF APPARATUS ARE THAT PROGRAMMED STRESS CHANGES WITH TIME CAN BE APPLIED WITHOUT BEING AFFECTED BY CHANGES IN SAMPLE BEHAVIOR DURING THE TEST, AND THAT ANY TYPE OF COMPLEX WAVEFORM OF LOADING CAN BE READILY ...

Identifying fatigue damage of mudded intercalations based on dynamic triaxial test

Engineering Geology, 2021
Abstract Fatigue damage caused by cyclic dynamic loading may deteriorate strength parameters of mudded intercalations. This research work aimed at defining a new fatigue damage variable expression and revealing the fatigue damage evolution laws of mudded intercalations by conducting dynamic triaxial tests.

Dynamic characteristics of warm frozen soil under direct shear test-comparison with dynamic triaxial test

Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 2020
Abstract A series of dynamic direct shear tests and triaxial tests were conducted to investigate the dynamic properties of the warm frozen soil along the Qinghai-Tibet railway. The relationship between dynamic shear stress and dynamic shear strain of frozen soil under relatively high negative temperature is given according to the test results.

Hopkinson Techniques for Dynamic Triaxial Compression Tests

2006
A modified Hopkinson technique is developed to simultaneously load a sample in both the axial and radial directions. This is accomplished by using a composite incident-bar and a composite transmission-bar system. The incident-bar system consists of a large-diameter bar, followed by a small-diameter bar that fits inside a tube whose outside diameter is ...

Dynamic Triaxial Test Research of Stage Change of Cohesive Soil

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
With the STX-50 pneumatic-typed dynamic triaxial system, the undrained dynamic triaxial tests on the saturated cohesive soil are performed to study the dynamic strength properties. The changing process of the dynamic strength, backbone curve and the soil deformation of the cohesive soil under dynamic load are zoom analysis by stages to get their ...

Dynamic soil property measurements during triaxial testing

Géotechnique, 1989
Offshore site investigations are discussed, and a description is given of a method of measuring the compression wave velocity, the shear wave velocity, and hence G sub max (initial tangential shear modulus of a soil), simultaneously with the routine investigation of soil properties using the triaxial cell.
