Study on accumulation deformation characteristics of silty clay based on dynamic triaxial tests

open access: yesScientific Reports
Silty clay is a common compressible soil found in many engineering projects, where its deformation behavior is particularly complex under cyclic loading. This study uses the GDS dynamic triaxial testing system to examine how silty clay deforms under different moisture contents, confining pressures, and cyclic stress ratios (CSR).

Age‐Specific Associations of Moderate‐to‐Vigorous Physical Activity With Relative and Absolute Risk of Type 2 Diabetes in UK Biobank Participants

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims We assessed the age‐specific associations between moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and incident type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods We included UK Biobank participants with valid accelerometry data without diabetes mellitus at baseline (N = 87 975; 62.7 years [IQR, 55.6–67.9]; 57% women).

Infrared Thermographic Assessment of Fatigue Behavior in Bolted Composite Joints

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the temperature evolution of bolted thick glass fiber reinforced polymer composites during fatigue testing. Three different adherend thicknesses (8, 10, and 12 mm) and three different bolt tightening torques (30, 40, and 50 N·$$ \cdotp $$m were considered to evaluate the effects of adherend thickness and bolt tightening

Transcranial electric stimulation in chronic pain: Effects on quality of life, physical function, activity and clinical status

open access: yesJournal of Neuropsychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Transcranial electric stimulation represents a promising non‐invasive neuromodulatory technique targeting maladaptive nociplastic changes in chronic pain (CP) with analgesic effects. However, its impact beyond pain reduction on broader outcomes such as quality of life (QoL) and physical function remains unclear.

The Ecology of Human Sleep (EcoSleep) Cohort Study: Protocol for a longitudinal repeated measurement burst design study to assess the relationship between sleep determinants and outcomes under real‐world conditions across time of year

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary The interplay of daily life factors, including mood, physical activity, or light exposure, influences sleep architecture and quality. Laboratory‐based studies often isolate these determinants to establish causality, thereby sacrificing ecological validity.

Experimental study on dynamic mechanical characteristics of coal body under dynamic–static combination loading

open access: yesAIP Advances
The mechanical response characteristics of the coal body in deep coal mining faced under dynamic loading impact are significantly different from those under static conditions, which leads to an increase in the frequency and intensity of dynamic disasters

Experimental study and correction of dynamic characteristic parameters of silty clay under negative temperature conditions

open access: yesSoils and Foundations
In order to examine the principles governing the variation of dynamic characteristic parameters, including the damping ratio, dynamic modulus, and frozen soil backbone curve, under different negative temperature conditions, silty clays sourced from the ...

A Data‐Driven Review of Geoscience Research Evolution Using SciBERT‐Based Topic and Network Analysis

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 4, October 2026.
This review synthesises the evolution of global geoscience research from 2004 to 2023 using large‐scale bibliometric evidence. By combining keyword co‐occurrence network analysis with SciBERT‐based topic modelling, it identifies major paradigm transitions from geology‐centred research to climate‐focused studies and recent data‐ and AI‐driven ...

Effects of Fast Rhythmic Auditory Pacing on the Exercise Intensity of a Cognitive–Motor Training in Older Adults

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examined the objective and perceived exercise intensity and movement volume during an acute session of a cognitive‐motor training, namely, square‐stepping exercise (SSE), in older adults under two pacing conditions and three step‐pattern complexities.

Stress wave propagation and energy characteristics of impact-damaged and water-soaked sandstone with different length-to-diameter ratios

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
In mining engineering, dynamic loads acting on the surrounding rock induce irreversible damage. The damage is further exacerbated by water exudation from filling bodies or groundwater in the surrounding rock.
