Damped dynamic vibration absorber

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1986
A pump is disclosed having a damped dynamic vibration absorber for attenuating pump vibration in response to a periodic disturbing force generated when the pump is in operation. The vibration absorber comprises elastic means, an annular mass and an energy dissipative means.

The broadband dynamic vibration absorber

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1982
The limited effectiveness of the linear passive dynamic vibration absorber is described. This is followed by an analysis producing the response of a primary system when a non-linear softening Belleville spring is used in the absorber. It is shown that the suppression bandwidth can be doubled by this means.

The cruciform dynamic vibration absorber

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984
The cruciform dynamic absorber comprises two free–free beams that are mass loaded at their free ends and that are joined centrally at right angles at a point at which they are attached to the vibrating item or structure of concern. Both a lumped simple system and distributed mechanical systems such as beams and clamped circular plates are considered ...
