Voltage sag compensation with energy optimized dynamic voltage restorer
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2002The compensation capability of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) depends primarily on the maximum voltage injection ability and the amount of stored energy available within the restorer. A new phase advance compensation (PAC) strategy for the DVR is proposed in order to enhance the voltage restoration property of the device.

Dynamic Voltage Restorer lab prototype
2008 IEEE 2nd International Power and Energy Conference, 2008Voltage sag according to the IEEE standard is a momentary decrease (10% - 90%) in the root mean square (rms) voltage magnitude where the duration is longer than half a cycle and less that one minute. The common causes of voltage sag are faults or short circuit in the system, starting of large loads and faulty wiring. Dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is a

Transformerless Dynamic Voltage Restorer for voltage sag mitigation
2016 Biennial International Conference on Power and Energy Systems: Towards Sustainable Energy (PESTSE), 2016Dynamic Voltage Restorers are identified to be cost effective solution for protecting sensitive loads from voltage related power quality issues. The extension of cost reduction and efficiency can be improved by eliminating the injection transformer. This paper discusses a transformer-less dynamic voltage restorer based on three-single phase Voltage ...

Mitigation of Voltage Sags by Dynamic Voltage Restorer
Journal of Automation and Control Engineering, 2014Voltage sag is the most severe type of power quality disturbance faced by many commercial and industrial customers. The proliferation of voltage sag load equipment used in industrial plants may cause tremendous economic and financial losses up to millions of dollars attributed to a single disruption.

Sensitive loads voltage improvement using Dynamic Voltage Restorer
Proceedings of the 2011 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics, 2011High quality energy is necessary to end-users domestic or industrial customers of the public electric distribution networks. The quality of the electric power is characterized by the measurement and the analysis of the electric disturbances which make it possible to understand the origin of the disturbances, to evaluate their impact on the sensitive ...

Dynamic voltage restorer based on voltage space vector PWM control
APEC 2001. Sixteenth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (Cat. No.01CH37181), 2001A dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) based on the voltage-space-vector pulsewidth-modulation algorithm is presented. Phase-jump compensation is achieved using a software phase-locked loop and a lead-acid battery energy store. A battery-charging control technique using the DVR itself is also described.

Dynamic voltage restorer based on fuzzy logic control for voltage sag restoration
International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Intelligent Systems (SEISCON 2011), 2011Power quality problems such as voltage sags are presently impor tant issues in the industrial field. The dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is a series compensation device that mitigates voltage sag problems. Due to the nonlinearity of the D VR dynamic character istics, the compensating performance of the D VR is affected much by its control strategy.

Low Cost Dynamic Voltage Restorer
RE&PQJIn this paper a low cost topology for compensation of voltage sags and swells is proposed. The dynamic voltage restorer neither uses rectifier stage nor dc capacitor and thyristors can be used as switching devices, resulting in a significant cost reduction.

Multilevel Optimal Predictive Dynamic Voltage Restorer
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2010This paper presents an optimal predictive controller for a multilevel converter-based dynamic voltage restorer (DVR), which is able to improve the voltage quality of sensitive loads connected to the electrical power network. The optimal predictive controlled multilevel DVR can restore sags and short interruptions while reducing the total harmonic ...
