Abstract The dynamic wetting and dewetting behaviour of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), studied by the Wilhelmy technique, is briefly reviewed. Slow relaxation effects were observed for PET surfaces. Equilibrium is achieved by an evaporative process in the case of advancing contact angles.
