Dynamical Global Downscaling of Global Reanalysis
Abstract With the aim of producing higher-resolution global reanalysis datasets from coarse-resolution reanalysis, a global version of the dynamical downscaling using a global spectral model is developed. A variant of spectral nudging, the modified form of scale-selective bias correction developed for regional models is adopted.

Dynamic downscaling and daily nowcasting from influenza surveillance data
AbstractReal‐time trends from surveillance data are important to assess and develop preparedness for influenza outbreaks. The overwhelming testing demand and limited capacity of testing laboratories for viral positivity render daily confirmed case data inaccurate and delay its availability in preparedness.

Regional Dynamical Downscaling and the CORDEX Initiative [PDF]
We review the challenges and future perspectives of regional climate model (RCM), or dynamical downscaling, activities. Among the main technical issues in need of better understanding are those of selection and sensitivity to the model domain and resolution, techniques for providing lateral boundary conditions, and RCM internal variability.

A combined statistical and dynamical approach for downscaling large-scale footprints of European windstorms [PDF]
The occurrence of mid-latitude windstorms is related to strong socio-economic effects. For detailed and reliable regional impact studies, large datasets of high-resolution wind fields are required.
