Modelling HIV/AIDS Epidemic among Men Who Have Sex with Men in China

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
A compartmental model with antiviral therapy was proposed to identify the important factors that influence HIV infection among gay men in China and suggest some effective control strategies. We proved that the disease will be eradicated if the reproduction number is less than one.

Process Completing Sequences for Resource Allocation Systems with Synchronization

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
This paper considers the problem of establishing live resource allocation in workflows with synchronization stages. Establishing live resource allocation in this class of systems is challenging since deciding whether a given level of resource capacities is sufficient to complete a single process is NP‐complete.

On Conley′s fundamental theorem of dynamical systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 2004, Issue 26, Page 1397-1401, 2004., 2004
We generalize Conley′s fundamental theorem of dynamical systems in Conley index theory. We also conclude the existence of a regular index filtration for every Morse decomposition.

Classification of coupled dynamical systems with multiple delays: Finding the minimal number of delays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this article we study networks of coupled dynamical systems with time-delayed connections. If two such networks hold different delays on the connections it is in general possible that they exhibit different dynamical behavior as well.

Approximate inertial manifolds for nonlinear parabolic equations via steady‐state determining mapping

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 1-24, 1995., 1993
For nonlinear parabolic evolution equations, it is proved that, under the assumptions of local Lipschitz continuity of nonlinearity and the dissipativity of semiflows, there exist approximate inertial manifolds (AIM) in the energy space and that the approximate inertial manifolds are constructed as the graph of the steady‐state determining mapping ...

Quasistatic dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We introduce the notion of a quasistatic dynamical system, which generalizes that of an ordinary dynamical system. Quasistatic dynamical systems are inspired by the namesake processes in thermodynamics, which are idealized processes where the observed ...

Nonlocal Cooperative Behavior, Psychological Effects, and Collective Decision‐Making: An Exemplification With Predator–Prey Models

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 12011-12037, August 2025.
ABSTRACT In bio‐social models, cooperative behavior has evolved as an adaptive strategy, playing multi‐functional roles. One of such roles in populations is to increase the success of the survival and reproduction of individuals and their families or social groups.

Geometric Properties of Isostables and Basins of Attraction of Monotone Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we study geometric properties of basins of attraction of monotone systems. Our results are based on a combination of monotone systems theory and spectral operator theory.

Common zeros of inward vector fields on surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A vector field X on a manifold M with possibly nonempty boundary is inward if it generates a unique local semiflow $\Phi^X$. A compact relatively open set K in the zero set of X is a block.

Stability of the global attractor under Markov-Wasserstein noise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We develop a "weak Wa\.zewski principle" for discrete and continuous time dynamical systems on metric spaces having a weaker topology to show that attractors can be continued in a weak sense.
