[KDy(Hptc)3(H3ptc)]n·2n(Hbipy)·5n(H2O), a Layered Coordination Polymer Containing DyO6N3 Tri-Capped Trigonal Prisms (H3ptc = Pyridine 2,4,6-Tricarboxylic Acid, C8H5NO6; Bipy = 2,2'-Bipyridine, C10H8N2)

open access: yesCrystals, 2012
The synthesis, structure and properties of the bimetallic layered coordination polymer, [KDy(C8H3NO6)3(C8H5NO6)]n·2n(C10H9N2)·5n(H2O) = [KDy(Hptc)3(H3ptc)]n·2n(Hbipy)·5n(H2O), are described.

Dysprosium and Holmium Vanadate Nanoprobes as High-Performance Contrast Agents for High-Field Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography Imaging.

open access: yesInorganic Chemistry, 2020
We describe a wet chemical method for the synthesis of uniform and well-dispersed dysprosium vanadate (DyVO4) and holmium vanadate (HoVO4) nanoparticles with an almost spherical shape and a mean size of ∼60 nm and their functionalization with poly ...

Multipolar Resonances in Electro‐Optic Metasurfaces with Moderate Refractive Index

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Electro‐optic nanoantennas with moderate refractive indices of 2.3 to 3.0 are numerically shown to sustain strong multipolar resonances, enabling efficient light confinement and EO tuning. Multipolar modes of even parity are most sensitive to variations in the refractive index.

Observation of low-field Fano-Feshbach resonances in ultracold gases of dysprosium

open access: yes, 2013
We report the observation of resonance-like loss in the trap population of ultracold dysprosium as a function of magnetic field, which we attribute to anisotropy-induced Fano-Feshbach resonances arising from Dy's large magnetic dipole moment and nonzero ...

Substantially Altered Local and Systemic Immunity in Ischemia‐Free Versus Conventional Liver Transplantation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates how ischemia‐free liver transplantation (IFLT) shapes both local and systemic immune responses compared with conventional liver transplantation (CLT). Our findings demonstrate that IFLT confers significant immunological protection by attenuating the STAT3‐HIF‐1α axis and enhancing the Heme‐HMOX1 pathway, two regulatory networks ...

Dual-Wavelength Cascade Pumping for Low-Threshold and High-Efficiency 4.4 μm Emission in Dy3+:InF3 Fiber Laser: A Numerical Investigation

open access: yesPhotonics
Dy3+:InF3 fiber shows promise for 4.4 μm mid-infrared lasing, but the much shorter lifetime of its upper laser level compared to the lower level causes inevitable self-termination.

Anisotropic expansion of a thermal dipolar Bose gas

open access: yes, 2016
We report on the anisotropic expansion of ultracold bosonic dysprosium gases at temperatures above quantum degeneracy and develop a quantitative theory to describe this behavior.

Generalized Mechanism Model for Ecosystem Hysteresis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A simplified model examines ecosystem transitions into alternative states after disturbances by leveraging positive and negative feedbacks. It identifies critical tipping points and quantifies hysteresis. Tests conducted on lakes, grasslands, and pitcher‐plant leaves align closely with empirical data and enable the prediction of recovery trajectories ...

On-column 2p bound state with topological charge \pm1 excited by an atomic-size vortex beam in an aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscope

open access: yes, 2012
Atomic-size vortex beams have great potential in probing materials' magnetic moment at atomic scales. However, the limited depth of field of vortex beams constrains the probing depth in which the helical phase front is preserved.

Host‐Directed Antiviral Activity of SB2960 Through Selective Induction and Remodeling of Stress Granules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amid the ongoing threat of emerging viral pathogens, host‐directed antivirals offer a strategy to overcome viral mutation and drug resistance. SB2960, a small‐molecule inducer of stress granules (SGs), exhibits potent broad‐spectrum antiviral activity with minimal cytotoxicity.
