Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Sb2O2[CO3] with Stereochemically Active Lone Electron Pairs at Elevated Pressures

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
Sb2O2[CO3] was synthesized at 20 GPa in a laser‐heated diamond cell and is an antimony oxocarbonate with stereochemically active lone electron pairs on the antimony atoms. Its crystal structure is characterized by the presence of [CO3]2–‐groups and by interconnected “Sb2O5‐units” which form a Sb–O‐network within the b,c lattice plane.

Align What Truly Matters: Pedestrian‐Relevant Hierarchical Parsing Network for Text‐Based Person Retrieval

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fine‐grained alignment is crucial for text‐based person retrieval, which searches for relevant pedestrian images using a text query. However, background clutter and semantically vacuous words can cause interference and misalignment, hindering retrieval performance.

First record of the forensically important genus Protopiophila Duda (Diptera: Piophilidae) from South Korea and an integrative framework for forensic identification

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract The family Piophilidae is of significant forensic importance due to its association with late‐stage decomposition; however, the Korean piophilid fauna remains poorly studied, lacking comprehensive morphological and molecular data. This study reports the first record of the genus Protopiophila Duda from South Korea.

Development of latent fingermarks on the surfaces of photo paper

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Photo paper is frequently encountered in forensic investigations; however, latent fingermark development remains challenging because its surface characteristics vary according to the manufacturing process and coating structure. This study investigated suitable methods for developing latent fingermarks on commercially available photo papers ...

Stable flies preferentially oviposit on sites offering conspecific eggs with egg‐derived bacterial semiochemicals

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Stable flies preferentially oviposit on sites offering conspecific eggs with egg‐derived airborne semiochemicals. Egg‐borne bacterial symbionts, and Serratia marcescens in particular, produce odorants which attract gravid female flies and elicit oviposition.
