On the Algebraic Independence of the Values of Functions That Are Certain Integrals Involving the 1F1(1; λ + 1; z) Hypergeometric Function

open access: yesAxioms
Indefinite integrals of products of exponential functions, power functions and generalized hypergeometric functions of some types are considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions are established for the algebraic independence of large sets of such ...

Prokaryotic RNA Associated to Bacterial Viability Induces Polymorphonuclear Neutrophil Activation

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2017
Polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) are the first cellular line of antibacterial host defense. They sense pathogens through recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) by innate pattern recognition receptors, such as Toll-like receptors

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Rational approximations to values of $E$-functions

open access: yes, 2023
We solve a long standing problem in the theory of Siegel's $E$-functions, initiated by Lang for Bessel's function $J_0$ in the 60's and considered in full generality by G. Chudnovsky in the 80's: we prove that irrational values taken at rational points by $E$-functions with rational Taylor coefficients have irrationality exponent equal to 2.

An integrated view of cyclin E function and regulation [PDF]

open access: yesCell Cycle, 2012
Cancers of diverse cell lineages express high levels of cyclin E, and in various studies, cyclin E overexpression correlates with increased tumor aggression. One way that normal control of cyclin E expression is disabled in cancer cells is via loss-of-function mutations sustained by FBXW7.

Comparative study between the flavonoids extracted from Nigella sativa seeds and vitamin E to ameliorating the effect of sodiumnitrate on some testicular functions in adult male rats

open access: yesKufa Journal for Veterinary Medical Sciences, 2014
The present study was designed to investigate the protective effect of flavonoids extracted from Nigella Sativa seeds comparing to vitamin E in ameliorating the deleterious effect of sodium nitrate on some testicular function in adult male rats.

From Religious Practices to Religious Narratives as Sense-Making Models Supporting Solidarity in Society [PDF]

open access: yesВестник Православного Свято-Тихоновского гуманитарного университета: Серия I. Богословие, философия, 2017
Taking into account Durkheim’s declaration about religion as a base for human solidarity, this article aims to trace the dynamics of those mechanisms that allow religion to play this role in transient conditions. The paper demonstrates how E.

The E-Functional for Some Pairs of Groups

open access: yesResults in Mathematics, 1991
The theory of the real interpolation method and the K-functional has been developed in several papers. There exists a close connection between the K-functional and the E-functional and, thus, between the corresponding K- and E-methods. By using these facts we can also obtain both new information about the E-functional (e.g.

Vitamin E function and requirements in relation to PUFA [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Nutrition, 2015
AbstractVitamin E (α-tocopherol) is recognised as a key essential lipophilic antioxidant in humans protecting lipoproteins, PUFA, cellular and intra-cellular membranes from damage. The aim of this review was to evaluate the relevant published data about vitamin E requirements in relation to dietary PUFA intake.
