Melem‐Perylene Diimide Polymer Network as Efficient Positive Electrode for Rechargeable Lithium and Magnesium Batteries

An organic electrode combining perylene diimide and heptazine was synthesized in one pot and tested as a positive electrode for lithium and magnesium batteries. The polymer network offers high theoretical capacity. Lithium cells exhibit excellent cycling stability, while magnesium, as a postlithium system, shows promising performance.

Three‐Step One‐Pot Photocatalytic Oxidation of Feedstocks and Organocatalytic Sequential Cascade to Access Enantioenriched α‐Aminonitriles

A one‐pot, three‐step cascade from simple feedstocks to chiral building blocks is reported. By merging organic photocatalysis and noncovalent organocatalysis, benzylic substrates are transformed into enantioenriched α‐aminonitriles via CH photooxidation, imine formation, and asymmetric Strecker reaction. Tsunami events over the past 500 years inundated Laguna Gemela West (Chile), leading to distinct sandy deposits in the lake record. This provides a complete perspective on tsunami inundation, including giant tsunamis, small local tsunamis and tsunamis that originated >100 km away from the site.
