Seleção de genitores de Eucalyptus grandis e de Eucalyptus urophylla para produção de híbridos interespecíficos utilizando REML/BLUP e informação de divergência genética Selection of Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus urophylla parents for the production of interespecific hybrids using REML/BLUP and genetic diversity data

THE CONTESTED CITY OF VENICE: Caring for Commodified Common Infrastructures in a Touristified Environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract In this essay I reveal contested common infrastructures in the interplay between vanishing public infrastructures in Venice and lack of care by governmental actors in a city with a shrinking number of inhabitants. I examine care and commodified public infrastructures in heritage cities facing mass tourism and climate change effects by zooming ...

Full‐length transcriptome profiling of true bug mitochondrial genomes reveals the unique transcriptional regulation during insect evolution

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
The mitogenome was transcribed into complete primary polycistrons on both strands. The heteropteran mitochondrial transcription termination factor (HmTTF) functions as a bidirectional attenuator rather than a terminator, and co‐evolution of HmTTF and the binding sites was observed.

Decades of Enclosure Protection Exert Composite Effects on Grassland Grasshopper Communities

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Decades of enclosure protection have altered grasshopper community structure, with species‐specific effects on population dynamics. For the low‐mobility grasshopper Chorthippus fallax, abundance did not differ strongly between exclosure‐protected and overgrazed areas, but its egg development duration was longer in exclosures. The two C.

Mothbox and Mothbot: Automated light trap and data processing system for scalable insect monitoring

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Insects represent the most diverse group of organisms on Earth and comprise the majority of known species; yet they are seldom accounted for in large‐scale biodiversity monitoring systems and conservation planning. We have developed the Mothbox—an open source automated light trap that makes insect monitoring accessible to non‐specialists and ...
