Metformin Inhibits Trophoblast Ferroptosis by Suppressing ATF2 and Activating the PI3K/Akt/Nrf2 Pathway to Improve Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

Metformin suppresses ATF2 expression, activating the PI3K/Akt pathway and promoting Nrf2 nuclear translocation. This upregulates GPX4, inhibiting ferroptosis in trophoblast cells. Erastin blocks system Xc−, depleting GSH and promoting ferroptosis. LY294002 and ML385 inhibit the pathway, validating the mechanism.

Phenolic Glycosides From Ficus erecta and Their Anti‐Inflammatory and Neuroprotective Activities

Five new phenolic glycosides, ficuserectosides A‐E (1–5), along with three known congeners (6–8) were isolated and identified from Ficus erecta. Compounds 5 and 8 protect PC12 cells from oxidative damage by decreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and increasing glutathione (GSH), highlighting their potential as neuroprotective leads.
