Abstract Shallow cumulus clouds are ubiquitous over continental land masses in summertime. They impart complex patterns of solar heating on the surface below. These patterns are dominated by cloud shadows, which drive spatial variability in the surface latent and sensible heat fluxes via the surface energy balance.

Green Marketing: The Environmentally-Friendly Attributes of Products and Decision to Purchase
Research background: Currently the degradation of the environment which consumers contribute to is an important problem. Purchase behavior plays a key role as it is associated with the choice of products by consumers who are increasingly taking into ...

Physics of Ferroelectric Wurtzite Al1−xScxN Thin Films
This review highlights Al1−xScxN as a groundbreaking wurtzite ferroelectric with exceptional properties, including large polarization, tunable coercive field, outstanding thermal stability, and compatibility with CMOS/III‐N technologies. It explores the origins of its ferroelectricity, phase stability, and control mechanisms, discusses challenges such ...

The portfolio theory of inflation and policy (in)effectiveness
The analysis of open macroeconomies typically assumes (implicitly or explicitly) that resource allocation decisions are taken by domestic agents. The Portfolio Theory of Inflation (PTI) developed in this study assumes that some critical allocation ...

The Low Quiescent X-Ray Luminosity of the Neutron Star Transient XTE J2123-058 [PDF]
We report on the first X-ray observations of the neutron star soft X-ray transient (SXT) XTE J2123-058 in quiescence, made by Chandra and BeppoSAX, as well as contemporaneous optical observations. In 2002, the Chandra spectrum of XTE J2123-058 is consistent with a power-law model, or the combination of a blackbody plus a power-law, but it is not well ...

The classification of log Enriques surfaces of rank 18
Log Enriques surface is a generalization of K3 and Enriques surface. We will classify all the rational log Enriques surfaces of rank 18 by giving concrete models for the realizable types of these surfaces.Comment: 31 pages, 2 figures, to be published in ...

Redox‐sensitive pro‐fluorophores based on azido‐flavyliums clicked to alkynyl analogues of plasmodione oxide have been developed. In their quinone form, the fluorescence is quenched by photoinduced electron process (PeT) and restored after reducing to hydroquinone. PEG chain length modulates the amplitude of fluorogenic response.

Dynamical coupled-channels model of $K^- p$ reactions (I): Determination of partial-wave amplitudes [PDF]
We develop a dynamical coupled-channels model of K^- p reactions, aiming at extracting the parameters associated with hyperon resonances and providing the elementary antikaon-nucleon scattering amplitudes that can be used for investigating various phenomena in the strangeness sector such as the production of hypernuclei from kaon-nucleus reactions. The

Introduction to matrix‐based method for analyzing hybrid multidimensional prostate MRI data
Abstract A new approach to analysis of prostate hybrid multidimensional MRI (HM‐MRI) data was introduced in this study. HM‐MRI data were acquired for a combination of a few echo times (TEs) and a few b‐values. Naturally, there is a matrix associated with HM‐MRI data for each image pixel.
