The quantity theory of money. Reply to Dr. R.S. Masera
In this brief note, the author responds to R.S. Masera’s criticism of the author’s position on the quantity theory of money. The author maintains that the monetary authorities cannot arbitrarily create excessive money balances in the hands of the public ...

Abstract The Strathpeffer–Struie Lower Devonian LORS (Lower Old Red Sandstone) deposits of the Northern Highlands of Scotland contain the decidedly unusual ‘foetid beds’. These are interpreted as being deposited in a highly saline sulphate lake and associated playa mudflat, which developed in an intermontane basin in the Caledonian Mountains of ...

The transportation sector is a major contributor to global carbon emissions; however, the high costs of infrastructure and equipment present significant barriers to effective emission reduction. As a market‐based mechanism, carbon trading improves the efficiency of emission reductions and facilitates the integration of the transportation sector into ...

A new type timelike surface given with monge patch in E41
In this work, we think about timelike Aminov surface of hyperbolic type in four dimensional Minkowski space E??. We investigate and classify this surface with respect to its Gaussian curvature, mean curvature and normal curvature. We get some results on flat, minimal and semiumbilical hyperbolic type Aminov surfaces.

Discrete constant mean curvature nets in space forms: Steiner's formula and Christoffel duality
We show that the discrete principal nets in quadrics of constant curvature that have constant mixed area mean curvature can be characterized by the existence of a K\"onigs dual in a concentric quadric.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, pdfLaTeX (plain pdfTeX

Predicted Effects of Climate Change on Future Distributions of Ectomycorrhizal Fungi
This study modelled the future distributions of 60 common ECM fungi in Europe and explored the relationship between ECM fungal distribution changes and host specificity. The results reflect that the distributions of most fungi will decrease and shift under climate change, and more conifer specialists will lose their current habitats compared to ...

Acquired macrolide resistance in the human intestinal strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus E41 associated with a transition mutation in 23S rRNA genes [PDF]
Restriction fragment length polymorphism and DNA sequencing of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products showed that a Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain of human origin resistant to macrolides, from which no resistance determinants have been detected by specific PCR and microarray screening, contained a heterozygous A-->G transition mutation at position ...

Timelike rotational surfaces of elliptic, hyperbolic and parabolic types in Minkowski space E41 with pointwise 1-type Gauss map [PDF]
In this work, we focus on a class of timelike rotational surfaces in Minkowski space E41 with 2-dimensional axis. There are three types of rotational surfaces with 2-dimensional axis, called rotational surfaces of elliptic, hyperbolic or parabolic type.

Circumference of 3-connected cubic graphs
The circumference of a graph is the length of its longest cycles. Jackson established a conjecture of Bondy by showing that the circumference of a 3-connected cubic graph of order $n$ is $\Omega(n^{0.694})$.

Hierarchical analysis of spreading dynamics in complex systems
Abstract Modeling spreading dynamics on spatial networks is crucial to addressing challenges related to traffic congestion, epidemic outbreaks, efficient information dissemination, and technology adoption. Existing approaches include domain‐specific agent‐based simulations, which offer detailed dynamics but often involve extensive parameterization, and
