Incidental finding of a neuroendocrine neoplasm in a suspected ear canal exostosis
A 55-year-old man was referred to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology with a five-month history of progressive conductive hearing loss associated with a tumor in the external auditory canal. A temporal bone computed tomography (CT) revealed a bony growth covered by a thickened layer of soft tissue compatible with an exostosis. The suspected exostosis

Core collapse supernova remnants with ears [PDF]
We study the morphologies of core collapse supernova remnants (CCSNRs) and find that about third of CCSNRs in our sample have two opposite `ears' protruding from their main shell. We assume that the ears are formed by jets, and argue that these properties are compatible with the expectation from the explosion jet feedback mechanism (JFM).

A Link Loss Model for the On-body Propagation Channel for Binaural Hearing Aids [PDF]
Binaural hearing aids communicate with each other through a wireless link for synchronization. A propagation model is needed to estimate the ear-to-ear link loss for such binaural hearing aids. The link loss is a critical parameter in a link budget to decide the sensitivity of the transceiver.

The use of the «Surgitron» radiowave scalpel for the surgical treatment of external ear neoplasms
The objective of the present study was to elucidate etiology and clinical picture of the tumours of the external ear as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of their radiowave surgery. We sought to optimize the surgical strategy for the treatment of tumour-like masses, benign and malignant neoplasms of the external ear with the use of the Surgitron ...
