Mathematical models for order of mutation problem in myeloproliferative neoplasm: non-additivity and non-commutativity [PDF]
In some patients of myeloproliferative neoplasm, two genetic mutations can be found: JAK2 V617F and TET2. When one mutation is present or not, the other mutation has different effects on regulating gene expressions. Besides, when both mutations are present, the order of occurrence might make a difference.

IntroductionEndolymphatic sac tumors (ELSTs) are rare neuroectodermal neoplasms that originate in the endolymphatic sac and duct. They exhibit no specific age or gender predilection, although they are more prevalent in patients with von Hippel–Lindau ...

Loose ear decompositions and their applications to right-angled Artin groups [PDF]
We characterize planar graphs and graph minors among other graph theoretic notions in terms of right-angled Artin groups (RAAGs). For this, we determine all sets of elements in RAAGs with ears as underlying graphs that are exactly the sets of vertex generators.

Adopting level set theory based algorithms to segment human ear [PDF]
Human identification has always been a topic that interested researchers around the world. Biometric methods are found to be more effective and much easier for the users than the traditional identification methods like keys, smart cards and passwords. Unlike with the traditional methods, with biometric methods the data acquisition is most of the times ...

Order-of-mutation effects on cancer progression: models for myeloproliferative neoplasm [PDF]
We develop a modeling framework for cancer progression that distinguishes the order of two possible mutations. Recent observations and information on myeloproliferative neoplasms are analyzed within our framework. In some patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms, two genetic mutations can be found, JAK2 V617F and TET2.

Wideband impedance measurement in the human ear canal; In vivo study on 32 subjects [PDF]
The human ear canal couples the external sound field to the eardrum and the solid parts of the middle ear. Therefore, knowledge of the acoustic impedance of the human ear is widely used in the industry to develop audio devices such as smartphones, headsets, and hearing aids.

A Human Ear Reconstruction Autoencoder [PDF]
The ear, as an important part of the human head, has received much less attention compared to the human face in the area of computer vision. Inspired by previous work on monocular 3D face reconstruction using an autoencoder structure to achieve self-supervised learning, we aim to utilise such a framework to tackle the 3D ear reconstruction task, where ...

Syringoid eccrine carcinoma (SEC) is a rare, malignant, adnexal, and locally aggressive tumor. Due to their low incidence and non-specific clinical manifestation, these tumors are often misdiagnosed, even in the presence of specific histological findings.

Diagnostic confusion resulting from CD56 expression by cutaneous myeloid sarcoma
Myeloid sarcomas are tumor masses composed of aggregates of malignant myeloid precursors in extramedullary sites including the skin. We report a case of myeloid sarcoma in a patient who presented with an ear lobe mass and facial nerve paralysis ...
