Comparing the effect of two methods of using ear protective device on pain intensity in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting: A randomized clinical trial [PDF]
Background: Severe pain is the most prevalent complication after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). The aim of this study is to compare the impact of two methods using ear protective devices on pain intensity in patients undergoing CABG.

The Reliability and Validity of In-Ear Microphone Measurements of Ear Protective Devices [PDF]
A miniature microphone was placed in a subject's ear after the method described by Brammer and Piercy [J. Acoust. Soc. Amer. 52, 1972 180], and its output fed to a spectrum analyzer set to a bandwidth of 100 Hz. The subjects were seated in a semireverberant room into which a white noise field at 95 dB SPL was introduced.

Method for protected noise exposure level assessment under an in-ear hearing protection device: a pilot study [PDF]
To properly measure the effective noise exposure level of workers with hearing protection devices (HPD), the use of in-ear noise dosimeters (IEND) is increasing. Commercial IENDs typically feature one in-ear microphone that captures all noises inside the ear and do not discriminate the residual noise in the earcanal from wearer-induced disturbances ...
