A systematic review of the interventions to promote the wearing of hearing protection

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE: Noise-induced hearing loss can only be prevented by eliminating or lowering noise exposure levels. When the source of the noise cannot be eliminated, workers have to rely on hearing protection equipment.

[Effectiveness of ear protective devices].

open access: yesMedycyna pracy, 1979
Efficiency of 9 types of hearing protectors was investigated. A subjective method of an absolute hearing threshold shift in free sound field in 20 well-hearing-persons was applied. The results obtained are presented in figures. It was found that the maximum efficiency of most hearing protectors usually fell toon the frequency of 4000 Hz and amounted to

Patient‐Mounted Neuro Optical Coherence Tomography for Targeted Minimally Invasive Micro‐Resolution Volumetric Imaging in Brain In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Herein, a patient‐mounted neuro optical coherence tomography system that integrates a 5 degrees‐of‐freedom skull‐mounted robot (Skullbot) with a 0.6 mm neuroendoscope for targeted, minimally invasive deep brain imaging, is developed. The system offers high‐resolution imaging with precise deployment, demonstrated through successful tumor imaging in a ...

Effect of Budesonide Nasal Irrigation in Patients With Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps Without Prior Sinus Surgery: A Randomized, Double‐Blind, Placebo‐Controlled Study

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The indication for nasal irrigation with corticosteroids after sinus surgery in patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps (CRSwNP) is well established, as surgery facilitates distribution throughout the sinonasal cavity.

Cost Utility Analysis of Fluticasone Exhalation Delivery System Versus Budesonide Nasal Irrigation for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is managed after sinus surgery with topical corticosteroids. Given limited distribution of nasal steroid sprays, patients have the option of either steroid nasal irrigation (SNI) or exhalation delivery system with fluticasone (EDS‐FLU).

Altered Nasal Microbiota in Sinonasal Tumors: A Comparative Analysis of Malignant and Benign Sinonasal Tumors

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Although shifts in nasal microbiota have been well‐documented in inflammatory upper airway conditions, microbiota tumor‐associated alterations remain uncharacterized. This study is the first to compare sinonasal microbiota profiles of patients with malignant tumors (MT), benign tumors (BT), and controls, offering insights into tumor‐
