Long‐Term Storage of Meteoric Water in the Variscan Basement: Stable Isotope Constraints (δD–δ18O)

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT F‐Ba‐Pb‐Zn (±Ag) deposits near the unconformity between the Armorican and Aquitaine basins formed by mixing surface waters and brines with fluid ascending from the basement. To better constrain the source of this fluid and the conditions of mixing, we analyzed the hydrogen (δDwater) and oxygen (δ18Owater) isotopic composition of water trapped ...

3D Quantification of Subsidence During Pyrenean Retro‐Wedge Initiation: Role of Structural and Thermal Inheritance on Hyperextended Margin Inversion (Aquitaine Basin)

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We present novel 3D subsidence data enabling vertical movements' quantification during the early formation of the Pyrenean retro‐wedge. From Cenomanian to Turonian times, subsidence is relatively low (~26 ± 10 m/Myr), corresponding to a brief 10 Myr thermal re‐equilibration of the European lithosphere following the hyperextended rift episode ...

Paleoecologic Controls on Early Triassic Refugia Distribution

open access: yes, 2017
The end-Permian extinction (~252 ma) was the largest extinction event to have occurred during the Phanerozoic, resulting in the elimination of up to 78% of marine genera. Recovery from such a catastrophic event did not occur until the Middle Triassic, likely owing to prolonged environmental stress.

Evaluating Bayesian Morphological Clocks for Estimating a Dated Phylogeny in a Relict and Fossil‐Rich Family of Wasps (Hymenoptera, Chrysidoidea)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In recent years, a wide array of tools originally developed for molecular dating analyses has been adapted for use within a morphological clock perspective. This is of paramount relevance for taxonomic groups that cannot be sampled in forms suitable for DNA extraction.
