A Triassic Fauna from Madagascar, Including Early Dinosaurs
Science, 1999The discovery of a Middle to Late Triassic (∼225 to 230 million years old) terrestrial vertebrate fauna from Madagascar is reported. This fauna documents a temporal interval not well represented by continental vertebrate assemblages elsewhere in the world. It contains two new prosauropod dinosaurs, representing some of the earliest dinosaur occurrences

Retrograde Evolution of Early Triassic Conodonts
2016Iterative evolution, with repetition of heterochronous homeomorph lineages, is the most frequent type of evolution shown by Triassic conodonts. One specific example of such evolutionary modes is given in the present chapter. Like in ammonoids, they are accompanied by typical geometrical simplification during the transition between the ancestors and ...

Early Triassic paleomagnetism and tectonics, South China
Journal of Southeast Asian Earth Sciences, 1993Abstract New preliminary paleomagnetic results from the Lower Triassic limestones in several representative localities of South China support the existence of displaced blocks proposed by Hsu et al. (1988) “Huanan Alps, not South China Platform.” Sci. Sin.(B) , 31 , 109–119. and Hsu et al.

Early Triassic proliferation of microbial deposit
2019In modern examples of well-developed microbial-dominated deposits associated with metazoan organisms can be currently found in various environments including but not restricted to lagoons in Polynesia (Sprachta et al., 2001), the warm water of the Cuba (e.g., Bouton et al., 2016; Pace et al., 2018), the hypersaline lakes of the Great Salt Lake (USA; e ...

Late Triassic and Early Jurassic palaeogeography of the world
Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2007Abstract A new version of global and regional palaeogeographic maps is presented for two time intervals. These maps depict the plate tectonic configuration, palaeoenvironment and lithofacies during the Late Triassic (Carnian–Norian) and Early Jurassic (Hettangian–Toarcian) time. The individual maps illustrate the general conditions present during the

The Early Triassic epeiric ramp depositional sequence in the Dinarides
2014The Early Triassic depositional sequence at many localities investigated along the Dinarides (Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) represent deposition in an overall shallow, flat, extensive environment with a developement of only slightly deeper depositional conditions during the Spathian.
