In this Perspective, we highlight the processing science and scale‐up capabilities of the Materials Engineering Research Facility (MERF) at the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory, with an emphasis on practical solutions for sustainable water and critical resource recovery. We demonstrate how national laboratories bridge fundamental

Geomagnetic Information Model for 2019
In the narrow sense, “Geomagnetic Information” (GI) refers to the Earth’s magnetic field declination (D) and its annual variation (AVD) as marginal information of official and military maps.

Variability of magnetic field spectra in the Earth's magnetotail [PDF]
We investigate the variability of magnetic fluctuation spectra below 1 Hz in the Earth's plasma sheet using specially selected long observation intervals by Geotail spacecraft. The spectra can be generally described by a negative power law with two kinks.

On the Earth’s magnetic field and the Hall effect [PDF]
In a recent paper de Paor put forward a new theory of the Earth's magnetic field that depended on the Hall effect as an energy transfer mechanism. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the mechanism invoked is unimportant except in certain
