Controllable Crystalline Phases of Multi‐Cation Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the control of crystal phases in rare‐earth titanates containing multiple rare‐earth elements. By combining atomic‐level structure characterization techniques, the atomic structures are elucidated, and entropy of mixing for each phase is quantitatively estimated.

Genome‐Wide Association Studies Reveal the Genetic Architecture of Ionomic Variation in Grains of Tartary Buckwheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 17, May 8, 2025.
In this study, variation and genetic basis of ionome among Tartary buckwheat population are investigated, illuminating their significance in the domestication and diversification of Tartary buckwheat. And three genes (FtACA13 for Na content, FtYPQ1 for Zn content, FtNHX2 for As content) are identified with the dominant haplotypes and functional ...

A Hf(IV)‐Coordinated NIR‐II Fluorescence “Turn‐On” Nanoprobe for Precise Imaging‐Guided Surgery in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
Based on the FDA‐approved fluorescent dye ICG, a Hf(IV)‐coordinated NIR‐II fluorescence “turn‐on” nanoprobe is constructed. This ultrasensitive nanoprobe can effectively accumulate in tumor sites and recover the fluorescence of ICG specifically in tumor microenvironment, accurately identifying submillimeter‐sized tumors with high sensitivity for real ...

Improving CO Oxidation Catalysis Over High Entropy Spinels by Increasing Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
This work demonstrates that changing configurational disorder can significantly improve catalytic activity and stability. A series of high entropy spinel oxides (HESOs) are synthesized using air‐stable molecular precursors to build crystal lattices atom‐by‐atom. Spinel oxide powders are extensively characterized with a variety of advanced methods (i.e.

Serrated Leaf‐Like N‐Doped Copper Sulfide Enabling Bifunctional Oxygen Reduction/Evolution via Dual‐Mode Cathode Reactions for High Energy Density and Cycle Stability in Zinc–Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A serrated leaf‐like nitrogen‐doped copper sulfide (N‐CuS) cathode with hybridized N 2p – S 3p orbitals is presented, mesopores for oxygen transport, and a five times larger electrochemical active surface area than Cu. In aerobic conditions, a zinc–air battery with N‐CuS achieves 788 mAh g⁻¹ and 916 Wh kg⁻¹, outperforming Pt/C+RuO₂.
