Earth's rotation in the framework of general relativity: rigid multipole moments [PDF]
A set of equations describing the rotational motion of the Earth relative to the GCRS is formulated in the approximation of rigidly rotating multipoles. The external bodies are supposed to be mass monopoles. The derived set of formulas is supposed to form the theoretical basis for a practical post-Newtonian theory of Earth precession and nutation.

Engineering Magnetotactic Bacteria as Medical Microrobots
Magnetotactic bacteria (MTB) are living microorganisms that produce magnetosomes for navigation using the Earth's geomagnetic field. Their built‐in magnetic components, along with their intrinsic and/or modified biological functions, make them one of the most promising platforms for making future living and programmable microrobots.

Subglacial discharge effects on basal melting of a rotating, idealized ice shelf [PDF]
When subglacial meltwater is discharged into the ocean at the grounding line, it acts as a source of buoyancy, enhancing flow speeds along the ice base that result in higher basal melt rates.

Length of day and polar motion, with respect to temporal variations of the Earth gravity field [PDF]
The masses distribution inside the Earth governs the behaviour of the rotation axis in the Earth (polar motion), as well as the Earth rotation rate (or equivalently, length of day). This masses distribution can be measured from space owing to artificial satellites, the orbitography of which provides the Earth gravity field determination.

Report of the panel on earth rotation and reference frames, section 7 [PDF]
Objectives and requirements for Earth rotation and reference frame studies in the 1990s are discussed. The objectives are to observe and understand interactions of air and water with the rotational dynamics of the Earth, the effects of the Earth's crust ...

From the Foucault pendulum to the galactical gyroscope and LHC [PDF]
We consider the Foucault pendulum, isosceles triangle pendulum and the general triangle pendulum rotating on the Earth. As an analogue, planet orbiting in the rotating galaxy is considered as the giant galactical gyroscope. The Lorentz and the Bargman-Michel-Telegdi equations are generalized for the rotating system.
