Unveiling Surface Species Formed on Ni‐Fe Spinel Oxides During the Oxygen Evolution Reaction at the Atomic Scale

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
≈1 nm thick amorphous layer with a higher oxygen concentration is formed on the surfaces of pristine P‐doped NiFe2O4 and activated NiFe2O4. Such surface layer is thought to significantly promote the charge transfer kinetics compared to the oxyhydroxide layer grown on Ni1.5Fe1.5O4 during the oxygen evolution reaction. Numerical investigation of the Earth's rotation during a complete precession cycle [PDF]

open access: yes
A theory for the long-term rotational motion of the quasi-rigid Earth was constructed by numerical integration. The theory spans 72,000 years centered about 1968 A.D., and provides accurate rotational and positional data for the Earth in the recent past ...

Direction‐Dependent Conduction Polarity in Altermagnetic CrSb

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A recently identified altermagnetic candidate, CrSb, has been found to exhibit direction‐dependent conduction polarity (DDCP). Conduction is dominated by electrons in the ab$\textit{ab}$‐plane and by holes along the c$c$‐axis of the hexagonal unit cell of CrSb.

Ligand Engineering of Co‐N4 Single‐Atom Catalysts for Highly‐Active and Stable Acidic Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the effects of metal – ligand distance on d electron structure and orbital configuration of single atom catalysts (SACs) and their corresponding oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalytic activity and stability based on the ligand engineering.

Heterostructure of Fe3O4 Confined in Hierarchical Porous Carbon for Interface‐Enhanced Medical‐Grade H2O2 Electrosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The heterostructure, featuring the interfacial effect of Fe3O4 and amorphous carbon, enhances electronic conductivity, and activates thermodynamically favorable Fe and C multiple sites for the 2e– ORR by moderately tuning *OOH adsorption strength, enabling efficient medical‐grade H2O2 synthesis.
