Very Slow Rotation of Earth's Inner Core From 1971 to 1974

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
The rate that Earth's inner core rotates relative to the mantle and crust has been debated for decades. Nonrotational processes, including internal deformation and flow in the outer core, have also been proposed to explain observed seismic changes.

Theory‐Guided Design of Non‐Precious Single‐Atom Catalyst for Electrocatalytic Chlorine Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
To overcome the reliance on noble metals for the chlorine evolution reaction (CER), we designed a non‐precious single‐atom catalyst (SAC), NiN3O–O. It achieves a low overpotential of 75 mV, 95.8% Cl2 selectivity, and outperforms commercial dimensionally stable anodes (DSAs).

How to prove the Earth's daily and annual direction of its spinning

open access: yesKartografija i Geoinformacije, 2014
Every day, we can observe the Sun's apparent motion around the sky. It rises in the east, gets to its highest point above the horizon at noon, and sets in the west. The stars appear to be fixed on the sky and move around apparently together with the Sun.

Evaluation and prediction of the effects of planetary orbital variations to earth’s temperature changes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
The influence of planetary orbital changes on Earth’s temperature has been poorly quantified and subject to speculation. Here, we delineated the effects of greenhouse gases and planetary orbital changes on Earth’s temperature and forecasted the latter ...

Universal Electronic‐Structure Relationship Governing Intrinsic Magnetic Properties in Permanent Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Permanent magnets derive their extraordinary strength from deep, universal electronic‐structure principles that control magnetization, anisotropy, and intrinsic performance. This work uncovers those governing rules, examines modern modeling and AI‐driven discovery methods, identifies critical bottlenecks, and reveals electronic fingerprints shared ...

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

Pattern of Inner‐Core Differential Rotation From Long‐Term Earthquake Sequences and USArray Network

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
How the differential rotation of the Earth's inner core (IC) has changed over time provides insights into the dynamics of the Earth's interior. Analyses of repeating earthquakes (doublets) have yielded different models.
