Terrain Classification for Planetary Rovers Using Wireless In‐Wheel Sensor Modules and Machine Learning

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Safe and reliable mobility over different kinds of ground is important for planetary rovers on space missions. Since terrain changes might affect the mobility of the rover, energy consumption, and safety, detecting the type of ground in real‐time is vital.

Evaluating land–sea linkages using land cover change and coral reef monitoring data: A case study from northeastern Puerto Rico

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Land cover change that leads to increased nutrient and sediment runoff is an important driver of change in coral reef ecosystems. In this study, we combined satellite remote sensing and field monitoring to assess concomitant changes in watershed land cover and coral cover in northeastern Puerto Rico in 2000–2015.

High Entropy Layered Cathode With Single Grain Morphology for High‐Performance Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We produced a multiphase high entropy layered cathode with nominal composition Na0.52Ti0.19Mn0.19Fe0.21Ni0.21Co0.20O2 and single grain morphology, which demonstrated enhanced specific capacity (∼180 mAh g−1 at 0.08 C), excellent rate capability (69% retention after 300 cycles at 1C), and high coulombic efficiency (>99.5%).

Prussian Blue Analogues for Non‐Aqueous Sodium‐Ion and Potassium‐Ion Batteries: The Landscape From Lab‐Scale Optimizations Toward Practical Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) are scalable cathode materials for non‐aqueous sodium‐ (SIBs) and potassium‐ion batteries (PIBs). This review links crystal chemistry, defect control, and particle engineering with electrochemical performance, highlighting how synthesis, crystal water, and interfacial stability jointly determine practical energy density ...

Synergistic Anode and Cathode Stabilization in Aqueous Zn‐Ion Batteries via a pH‐Stabilizing and Interface‐Adsorbing Additive

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A multifunctional additive, SSA, enables highly reversible aqueous zinc‐ion batteries by synergistically stabilizing both electrodes. It buffers interfacial pH to suppress side reactions, induces (002)‐oriented Zn deposition, and maintains an acidic environment to enhance polyaniline cathode stability.
